Center for International Studies of
Toledo (CEI)
The Ortega y Gasset Foundation inaugurated the activities of the CEI in 1982 with the academic sponsorship of the University of Minnesota and the insititutional support of the County Council of Toledo
This Center designed the Hispanic, Latin American and European Studies
Program. Its objective was to create an alternative to the
metodology used in the Spanish universites, organizing an education specifically directed towards foreign students,
but with the rigor and breadth of academic opportunities that
students are accustomed to receiving from their home universities and with
material covering Spain, Europe and Latin America.
In the program, the students have a wide range of
curricular options to choose from, including Anthopology, Archeology, Political Sciences,
Econocomics, Business, History, Arts, Spanish Language, Literature,
Women´s studies, Philosophy, Theater and Cinema
The program offers a total of seventy subjects,
fifteen to twenty of which are taught each semester and have a minimun number of students. All classes are
conducted in Spanish.
